Spoil Banks Reclamation, Schoeller, Libušín

18.4.2011

The reclamation project deals with the spoil banks of Libušín and Jiří and is related to the spoil bank reclamation in Němce. The reclamation has been designed to include the area of the adjacent sludge reservoirs. Technical measures were designed and implemented taking into account the need to ensure the stability of the Jiří locality's south slope. This consisted in adapting the slope and pouring a footing bench made of quarry-stones, and furthermore performing terrain modifications of the bottom in the catchpit, and levelling the terrain after the former spoil heap extraction.

Subsequently, the sloped ditch with stone casting will be built for focused removal of ground water into a natural terrain depression away from the locality. Implementation of the work includes liquidation of the current belt transportation, and demolition of the upper part of the decantation sump. Further terrain modifications consist in liquidating spoil bank agglomerates that threaten to roll over to adjacent lands and thereby prevent the finishing of the terrain modifications. Biological reclamation will follow for a course of 5 years.

Scope of work parameters

Total excavation 35 000 m3
Total landfills 33 800 m3
Liquidation of agglomerates 5 000 m3
Footing bench 45 000 m3
Covering with earth 9 200 m3
